The Department of Writing & Rhetoric at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Rhetoric and Composition, beginning fall semester 2022. The department seeks a colleague who can contribute to the ongoing development of its liberal arts program in writing and rhetorical studies. Required qualifications: PhD, completed or near completion, in rhetoric and composition; experience teaching composition at the university level. Secondary specialties that are particularly welcome include (but are not restricted to) visual rhetoric or writing studies. We are seeking a teacher-scholar who is committed to a liberal arts education that centers inclusive and equity-driven pedagogy. Teaching responsibilities for the year consist of five courses, including introductory and intermediate writing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach existing advanced courses in the Writing and Rhetoric department and develop new courses in their area of specialization.
