Position Description:    

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the Kavli IPMU, the University of Tokyo.

The position is funded by KAKENHI project, Grant-in-Aid for Specially Promoted Research, "Probing the origin of the universe using the largest CMB telescope arrays to date" (22H04913, PI: Osamu Tajima). The postdoctoral scholar will work on calibration and data analysis of Simons Observatory together with Tomotake Matsumura at the Kavli IPMU.

Kavli IPMU participates in the ground-based CMB experiment, Simons Observatory, scheduled to start observations in 2023. A successful candidate is expected to lead the effort working on calibration and data analysis for Simons Observatory by collaborating within the team in Japan and the international collaborations.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or related areas by the starting date of the position.
The appointment will start from Autumn 2022 through the end of March 2023, and it can be extended through March 2027 maximumly upon successful review of the research performance. (The appointment can start immediately after the selection of the candidate.)
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
