Postdoctoral Fellow – Biologics discovery The Pardee Lab is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow with biologics discovery experience to help drive an industry-sponsored project focused on peptide-based drug discovery and development. The group offers a collaborative mission-driven environment with a dedication to innovation and interdisciplinary research. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conducting research with others in a collaborative and stimulating environment. Furthermore, the role involves working directly with other lab members who are also contributing to the project, as well as external managers who oversee the project on behalf of the sponsor. Responsibilities include interim reporting to the sponsor (and occasionally to the sponsor’s scientific advisors who include the world’s foremost leaders in synthetic biology and therapeutics discovery) and working towards milestone-driven deadlines. Therefore, maintenance of meticulous records is crucial. Other activities involve generating publications, contributing to grants and regular progress reports, and mentorship of students. You will be relied on as a key technical contributor to the project who is trusted to make decisions based on your unique skill sets and knowledge. This opportunity allows you to directly impact research that has the potential to address significant unmet medical needs. Additionally, you will gain exposure to the biotech commercialization process and further develop your project management and presentation skills. FTE: The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow (pro-rated for those holding a partial appointment) recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work. Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 5 Collective Agreement.
