Position Description
The Department of Religion at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Religion in the United States (any period). We seek a religious studies scholar attentive to diversity within and among U.S. religions who will enhance existing departmental strengths in religion, health, and medicine; digital religion; material religion; and/or gender and sexuality. Possible additional areas of specialization could include religion and technology; race and gender in/and religion(s); religion and politics; and religion and the environment. Ability to teach introductory courses in religious studies essential. Applicants should send a cover letter which succinctly addresses their research and teaching and explains how diversity, equity, and inclusion principles inform their pedagogy and scholarship; a CV; and an article/chapter-length writing sample to religion@bu.edu by October 14, 2022. Initial interviews by Zoom. Letters of recommendation and supplementary materials will be requested at a later stage.
