The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applications for the SC Johnson Chair in Sustainable Global Enterprise. Ideal candidates will be senior scholars capable of being appointed at the Associate or Full Professor level. Rank will be determined based upon academic achievement and experience. The appointment will be in our Management and Organizations Area, with a primary school affiliation in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, beginning July 1, 2023. This faculty position is based in Ithaca, NY. Most teaching will take place at the Ithaca campus, with the potential for some teaching at the Cornell Tech or Weill Cornell Medical College campuses in New York City.

Applicants with research and teaching interests related to any aspect of sustainability will be considered, but special consideration will be given to those candidates who can teach Social Entrepreneurship and Business Sustainability courses. Responsibilities of the position include research in area(s) of expertise, teaching basic and advanced courses in Sustainable Business/Social Entrepreneurship, and potentially other Management classes, at the MPS, MBA, EMBA and/or Ph.D. levels, supervision of doctoral candidates, and service to the Area, School, and College. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in MBA and doctoral education.

It is expected that our faculty teach across multiple schools within the College of Business.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools. The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). Faculty members in the Management and Organizations Area conduct research on diverse topics using a variety of research methods.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
