Position Summary The Department of Physics and the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, in the area of theoretical particle physics working closely with Prof. James Unwin, to start in the Fall of 2023. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for up to two more years subject to performance and availability of funding. Possibility for joint appointments with nearby national laboratories, such as Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in physics beyond the Standard Model, astroparticle physics, and dark matter phenomenology. The University of Illinois Chicago is a Carnegie R1 University located close to downtown Chicago. Within the Department of Physics at UIC we have close interactions with a large CMS group, as well as the Nuclear Theory Group, and we maintain strong ties with other Chicagoland particle theory groups. Duties & Responsibilities · Aid the Prof. James Unwin in undertaking his research program. · Help with the mentoring of Prof. Unwin's PhD graduate students. · Perform excellent research in particle physics or related disciplines. · The opportunity to co-organise a seminar series.
