The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University is seeking a teaching-focused Instructor in the areas of programming, software engineering, and systems software. The ideal candidate will have commitment, passion, and excellence in teaching.

This position would teach under close mentorship of our Professors of the Practice, who are regular-rank, teaching-focused faculty. This mentorship would not only help the individual improve their teaching skills but also become immersed in the novel pedagogy used by our Professors of the Practice. We would expect that at the end of their appointment, the individual would be well-positioned for teaching-focused faculty positions at top institutions. This appointment would run from Janurary 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates who apply by the priority deadline of September 30, 2023 will receive full consideration, however, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
