Position Description:    

The Department of Theater Studies at Duke University in Durham, NC invites applications for a Lecturing Fellow specialized in Costume Design and Technology to begin July 1, 2023. This full-time, non-tenure-track, union position requires an MFA in Theater or related field at the time of hire. The successful candidate will teach three courses per year as well as manage the Costume Shop, maintain costume stock and storage, and oversee student-led costume builds for two Mainstage shows per year in addition to smaller ancillary builds as required. One course per year might be fulfilled instead by designing costumes for a Mainstage show. The candidate will be active in ongoing departmental service and curricular development but will also liaise and collaborate with theater technicians working for Duke Student Affairs. The renewable appointment will have an initial term of one year.
