Associate in Research/Lab technician at Duke University. An associate in research position is open in the Schmid lab in the Duke University Biology Department. Our lab is dedicated to excellence in microbial genomics, producing high impact research that drives discoveries in gene regulation in microorganisms living in extreme conditions. The lab group provides a unique environment where we value interdisciplinarity, collaboration, inclusion, and diversity. Requirements include at least a BS/BA in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field; exceptional communication and organizational skills; and a 2-year time commitment. One to three years of experience with common molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, microbial culturing, and RNA extraction is required. Candidates with knowledge in systems biology (e.g. next-gen sequencing and bioinformatics) are strongly encouraged to apply.
