Position Description

The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is accepting applications for a Visiting Graduate Student to participate in the training program between Duke University, Department of Romance Studies and École Normale Supérieure – PSL.

This internship program allows the selected ENS-PSL student to gain practical experience with innovative pedagogic strategies in language and culture at Duke. The student will participate in both classroom and in co-curricular activities as outlined below to gain new skills and pedagogic techniques that can be applied and adapted in other contexts.

Each language assistant hosted as a Student Intern will:

• Be a graduate student of good standing at their home institution or have completed a Master’s degree at the time of departure; • Arrive at least one week before start of semester in order to attend French Language Program Orientation; • Participate in all class sessions and related activities of Fall Teaching Pedagogy Course;

Participation of 35 hours per week is required.
