Position Description
Postdoctoral Associate
Egner Lab / Dr. Tobias Egner
Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University
The Egner Lab at Duke University is inviting applications for an NIH-funded Postdoctoral Associate position. We study cognitive control using behavioral/modeling, fMRI, EEG, and TMS approaches (see
http://www.egnerlab.org/). The Postdoctoral Associate will build specifically on our ongoing research examining neurocognitive mechanisms underpinning the regulation of task focus (cognitive stability) and task switching (cognitive flexibility).
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience or a related field, and a strong publication record in the areas of cognitive control, attention, or memory. Strong programming and statistical skills are essential, experience with fMRI (especially multivariate analysis techniques) and/or EEG (especially intracranial) are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully juggle multiple projects, make connections across research areas, and enjoy mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Responsibilities will include developing study designs, programming experiments, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, research presentations, IRB submissions, and the supervision of students and research assistants.
This position will provide the opportunity to interact with a vibrant cognitive neuroscience community at Duke, including collaborations with other PIs in the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. This position has full benefits, and salary will be based on the NIH scale.
This is a full time, grant funded position, eligible for all Duke benefits (https://hr.duke.edu/benefits) with an initial appointment of one year with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years, dependent on funding and performance.
Anticipated start date is in fall 2023, with some flexibility in the exact date.
Interested individuals should apply through Academic Jobs Online and include their CV, a brief statement of research interest and contact information for at least 3 references. Only applicants that have applied through Academic Jobs Online will be reviewed. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. If you are not able to upload your application materials or if letter writers would prefer to upload their letters directly, please complete your application and email those materials to Meghann Koffi at meghann.koffi@duke.edu to be uploaded manually.
