Position Description
The Lipshutz Lab at Duke University is recruiting for a full time Postdoctoral Associate position starting early-mid 2024 but timing can be flexible. The Lipshutz Lab conducts research on behavioral evolution, speciation, and sensory ecology in songbirds and shorebirds. Major areas of research include identifying the genomic basis of reproductive isolation, hormonal and neuro-transcriptomic mechanisms of aggression and parental care, and behavioral and physiological responses to anthropogenic sensory pollution. This opening is for a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in some of the following areas: genome evolution, molecular genetics, population genetics, phylogenetics, phylogeography, speciation, color quantification, and/or historical DNA. All candidates must have received a Ph.D. in biology, genetics, evolutionary biology, or a closely related field. Successful applications will also have some of the following: independent research experience, creativity, genetic or molecular lab experience, bioinformatics or statistical genetics experience, excellent communication skills, both written and oral. The postdoc will be based at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
