Description: Associate in Research Organization: Duke University Position: Part-time Associate in Research Location: Hybrid- Durham, NC, USA Reports to: Professor at Duke University Start Date: August 7, 2023 Length of Commitment: 3 months-20 hours per week Desired Qualifications and Experience: Qualifying candidates will be graduates of well-regarded master’s programs in economics and related fields. • Required: graduate level applied micro-econometrics skills, prior applied microeconomics research experience in labor, crime, and finance. Proficiency in programming with STATA, R, Python or Matlab; • Strong quantitative and statistical skills; • Significant coursework and experience in economics and statistics; • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills; • Genuine interest in economics, policy, and research; • A positive attitude and be flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player; • The ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines; • A willingness and desire to work hard and learn. • Responsibilities: Looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to work Part-time pre-doctoral Associate in Research for a period of 3 months with an option to renew for up to 9 additional months based on performance and funding availability. The Associate in Research will be based in Durham, NC and work in close collaboration with Professor. Candidates with prior research experience are strongly preferred, especially those with experience in Stata, R, Python or Matlab.
