| We invite applicants for a postdoctoral position in the group of Benjamin Wieder (https://wieder-group.netlify.app/) at the Institut de Physique Théorique (IPhT, https://www.ipht.fr/) at Université Paris-Saclay. We are seeking a candidate with significant experience in theoretical aspects of crystal symmetry and topological phases of matter, as well as a strong background in numerical analysis techniques. Candidates will theoretically predict and numerically analyze the properties of topological phases under a range of material-relevant symmetry and geometry conditions. Applicants should also be proficient in conducting research, giving seminars, and writing papers in English. Candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with our international network of collaborators in theory and experiment. The position is for 18 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 18 months contingent on performance. The start date is flexible and expected to be in spring to autumn 2024. The IPhT is located just outside of Paris in picturesque Gif-sur-Yvette at the French CEA and Université Paris-Saclay. Free shuttle buses and transit-pass discounts are provided for researchers who wish to live in downtown Paris. Remote and hybrid work options are also available.
