We seek candidates interested in radiation
detectors for high luminosity particle physics experiments with an emphasis on
fast timing applications. Our postdoctoral fellows are for three years, with
the possibility of a 2-year renewal based upon satisfactory job performance,
continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs, and are
provided with salaries comparable to those at other prestigious institutions.
We may offer a higher position, at the rank of assistant professor, for five
years with the possibility of a 2-year renewal to outstanding candidates.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics/Engineering or a related field by the time the appointment begins. Relevant knowledge/skills include radiation sensor development based on silicon. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the development of 4D sensors, including LGADs and 3D detectors, and their application to future high energy physics experiments. The position will be based at KEK with some travels to CERN, working with QUP PI Daniela Bortoletto, Deputy PI Christopher Betancourt and other scientists at QUP and KEK.
