The Immunology Unit at Institut Pasteur du Cambodge seeks a motivated postdoctoral scientist to study adaptive immune responses to Plasmodium vivax in the framework of an NIH funded project. This project aims at understanding the host immune characteristics that are associated with protection from clinical Plasmodium vivax malaria. Our objectives are to elucidate the mechanisms driving the development of broadly inhibiting anti-Plasmodium vivax antibodies and to uncover immune pathways of protection. Accomplishment of these goals will be reached by leveraging a longitudinal Plasmodium vivax patient cohort displaying contrasted clinical outcome of infection, in combination with state-of-the art technologies on site and our ability to perform short-term cultures of Plasmodium vivax. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 8-10 international researchers and will participate in an international research project in a stimulating environment.
