Position Description:

*** the listing date or deadline for this position has passed and new applications are no longer accepted. ***

The Institute of Physics at the Academia Sinica invites applications from outstanding experimental physicists for a tenure-track faculty position in the Medium and High-energy Physics (MHEP) Group to enhance and develop its research programs and to initiate and lead new directions. The position is open for all ranks, including assistant, associate, and full research fellow (equivalent to university faculty). Academia Sinica is the leading basic research institution in Taiwan, government funded and made up of an increasingly international community of scholars. The MHEP experimental groups pursue experimental, instrumentation programs on collider, hadron structure, cosmic rays, neutrinos, dark matter, beyond the standard model and gravitational physics, with strong computing support. We participate in international collaborations like AMS/ISS, CDEX/CJPL, ATLAS/LHC, SeaQuest/FNAL, COMPASS/CERN, E50/J-PARC, KAGRA, and LIGO, while leading a domestic TEXONO experiment on reactor neutrinos. The experimental programs are complemented by active theory programs covering a broad spectrum of particle, astro-particle, and cosmology physics.

The current recruitment targets “accelerator-based nuclear and particle physics”. This position can be made available for new research areas. Successful candidates will be granted initial start-up research funding support. Faculty members of Academia Sinica can teach and supervise graduate students in the country's research universities, on a voluntary basis. The application materials should be submitted via the AcademicJobsOnline and should include a cover letter describing the major accomplishments of the applicant, a curriculum vitae, a complete publication list, a statement on future research directions and plans, and at least three recommendation letters to be submitted directly via the AcademicJobsOnline.

For full consideration, please submit all materials by the deadline. Late applications may be considered until the position is filled.
