Position Description: |
We are seeking qualified candidates to fill a PhD position (4-year) in
theoretical high-energy physics at the Institute For Computational Science of
the University of Zurich. The PhD project will be concerned with the
computation of multi-loop scattering amplitudes in QCD for LHC phenomenology. The position will be associated to the group of Prof. H. Ita with expertise in
collider physics, the computation of radiative corrections in field theories
and modern approaches to scattering amplitudes. The applicants will be
encouraged to collaborate with local PhD students and postdocs as well as to
take advantage of the expertise in theoretical and experimental particles
physics groups at the LTP Theory Group of the Paul Scherrer Institute. The annual salary is set by a predetermined matrix from the Swiss Science
Foundation for Doctoral students. There are ample funds for travel,
publications and computers. Application deadline: The position is expected to be filled during fall 2023.
The evaluation of the application will start on October 15th. Priority will be
given to applications received by October 15th, 2023, however, late submissions
will be considered until the position is filled. Starting date: Employment will start at the earliest possible date,
possibly in November 2023. Please indicate preferred starting dates in your
application. Requirements: The candidate should have a bachelor and master degree in
Physics. Candidates with a strong theoretical/computational background are
