Open-Rank Faculty Positions in Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Position overview Merrimack College, located 25 miles north of Boston, is excited to announce an opportunity to be a part of creating an outstanding regional research university. Merrimack is committed to growing focused areas of research distinction that will allow faculty to make high-impact contributions in their areas of expertise. As part of our strategic plan, we are on the road to R2 status, and we have a long-term vision to launch Ph.D. programs in critical areas of engineering within the next 5-10 years. The School of Engineering and Computational Sciences invites applications for multiple faculty positions at all ranks. We are particularly interested in candidates with disciplinary expertise in civil engineering, electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering. Applicants with expertise in computational engineering are encouraged to apply. Applicants at the rank of Assistant should have expertise that will contribute to sustainable research clusters with the potential to build a lab or a research center that aligns with our vision of fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in research and education. Applicants at the rank of Associate or Full should show evidence of their ability to rapidly build productive research collaborations. Who we are Merrimack College's School of Engineering and Computational Sciences is a hub of innovation and excellence in engineering and computational disciplines. We currently offer ABET-accredited civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering undergraduate programs. Furthermore, we have computer engineering, computer science, and data science programs. Our commitment to providing cutting-edge education is reflected in the new programs we launch in the coming years. In the academic year 2024-25, we will introduce construction management, information technology, and information systems programs, followed by a program in electromechanical engineering in 2025-26. Our student body comprises approximately 500 undergraduate students, all receiving a rigorous education that prepares them for success in their chosen fields. In addition to our undergraduate offerings, we have graduate programs in computer science, data science, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering management, and product management. These programs are experiencing significant growth, serve around 200 graduate students, and are designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills in high demand in today’s job market. Moreover, we are excited to announce the launch of our MS in information technology in the academic year 2024-25 and an MS program in cybersecurity in 2025-26. At the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all our students.
