Description

Emmy Noether was a brilliant scientist whose work underpins much of modern physics.

The Simons Emmy Noether Fellows Program at Perimeter Institute honours her legacy by supporting and encouraging early- and mid-career women physicists.

The visiting fellowship can be held for up to two years and allows visits to Perimeter Institute for an overall period of up to three months, while holding a postdoctoral position at another institution. Fellows enjoy uninterrupted research time immersed in Perimeter’s collaborative environment. The program will support travel and housing costs, and depending on circumstances may include support for additional local costs as well as childcare; this allows researchers to shape their visits in ways that enrich and accelerate their scientific careers.

PhDs who are currently in postdoctoral positions in Physics and related areas at universities or the equivalent position at a research centre and working particularly in the fields represented at Perimeter (quantum information, quantum gravity, quantum fields and strings, cosmology, quantum foundations, particle physics, quantum matter, strong gravity, and mathematical physics) are encouraged to apply.

This program is open to women of all backgrounds and origins. Perimeter Institute is committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons/persons of colour, Indigenous/Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ2 persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas. Applicants who require special accommodation in order to complete their application/interview are encouraged to contact accessibility@perimeterinstitute.ca for assistance.
