Applications are invited for one or more postdoctoral research fellow positions in theoretical physics at the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Pohang, South Korea. These positions will be part of the Junior Research Group "Interfaces and Defects in Strongly Coupled Matter" lead by Matthew M Roberts. APCTP (www.apctp.org), founded in 1996, is an international organization dedicated to excellence in research and the training of young scientists in the Asia-Pacific region. APCTP offers a unique research environment incorporating a large diversity of fields (particle physics, statistical physics, string theory, condensed matter, cosmology). Successful applicants will be expected to work on one or more of the following research areas: string theory, high energy theory, general relativity, mathematical physics, and condensed matter theory. We welcome applications from researchers in diverse research areas. A PhD in theoretical physics or a closely related field is required by the starting date of the position. We especially welcome applicants from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short research statement, and three letters of recommendation via the Academic Jobs Online website. The position can be for up to three years (contingent on funding and performance). These positions remain open until filled, and the review of applications will begin after 15th of December 2023. Candidates can start as early as Spring 2024 and no later than Fall 2024. |
