Postdoctoral Positions in Nuclear Theory at the University of Houston

The Nuclear Theory Group at the University of Houston anticipates having two open postdoctoral positions starting in the summer or fall of 2024. Our interests include non‐perturbative QCD, lattice QCD, QCD at finite temperature/density, physics of high energy heavy ion collisions, physics of the Quark‐Gluon Plasma, physics of neutron stars and mergers, equation of state for hot and dense strongly interacting matter. Both positions are initially for two years, which can be renewed for a third year subject to the availability of funding. Faculty working in the area of interest are Claudia Ratti and Volodymyr Vovchenko. The group works in close contact with the experimental STAR and ALICE heavy ion group at the University of Houston. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with other scientists affiliated with the MUSES and NP3M collaborations.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics.

The interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and arrange for three letters of recommendation. The deadline for this application is December 1st, 2023, but applications will continue to be received until the position is filled.
