The research group of Professor
Mengxing Ye at the University of Utah, Department of Physics and Astronomy, invites applications for a
Postdoctoral position in condensed matter theory (CMT). The position will be for two years with possible renewal for a third year upon mutual agreement. The appointment includes a competitive salary and benefits, and research/travel funds.
Mengxing Ye’s research interests focus on strongly correlated physics, including non-equilibrium dynamics in quantum materials, correlated phases and responses in narrow band systems, non-Fermi liquids, quantum magnets. Analytical techniques, such as quantum many body theory for equilibrium and non-equilibrium physics, parton theory, renormalization group, group theory, may be applied in the research projects. Experiences with some of these techniques will be a plus, but not required for the position.
Your complete application must include
1) A CV, including a list of publications
2) A statement of research interests up to 3 pages
3) 2-4 reference letters.
Complete applications received by January 03, 2024 will receive first consideration. The position will remain open until being filled. The start is expected to be in August 2024, but can be flexible.
