Position Description
The department of astronomy (DoA) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions, open to all frontiers of astronomy and astrophysics, from exoplanets to cosmology, and from theoretical astrophysics to observational astronomy. Existing research areas at DoA include observational/numerical/ theoretical cosmology, galaxy formation, galactic dynamics and stellar evolution. DoA is a full institutional member of DESI, and leads the Chinese consortium of PFS and CSST cosmology survey. DoA is also eager to expand into other frontiers of astronomy including exoplanets, time-domain astronomy, observations and instruments. Together with the astronomy & astrophysics division of the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) at SJTU, we are building the 4m JUST telescope. Observers and theorists are eagerly welcome to join this endeavor. More information can be found at http://astro.sjtu.edu.cn/en. The positions are open to researchers of all nationalities, and will provide internationally competitive salary, housing subsidy, and start-up funds. The nominal start date is September 2024, but can be flexible. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a brief research summary, and 3 reference letters.
