Position Description:    

The astronomy group at Texas A&M University invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions starting in the fall of 2024. Successful applicants will join the lively, interactive TAMU astronomy group and the Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics and Astronomy. The position will involve collaboration with the members of the TAMU astronomy group as well as time to pursue independent research. The position is for three years and includes competitive salary as well as funding to support travel and other research activities. This is an in-person position located in College Station, Texas. Ability to work legally in the United States is required.

The astronomy faculty at TAMU work in areas including, but not limited to, galaxy formation and evolution, the high redshift universe, near-field cosmology, star formation, supermassive black holes and AGN, the cosmic distance scale and related time domain astronomy. This research is being carried out using facilities such as the JWST, HST, ALMA, Gaia, DES, and in the future with LSST and the ESO VLT MOONS survey.
