Description

The Niels Bohr International Academy (NBIA) at the Niels Bohr Institute invites expressions of interest for a 2+1-year postdoctoral fellowship in the subject of generalized symmetries and their applications to quantum matter. Experienced candidates (>2 years since PhD) with the relevant expertise have a possibility of converting to a 5-year fixed-term Assistant Professor. The preferred starting date for the position is in the Fall of 2024. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit all material using this website before March 1st, 2024.

We are seeking highly motivated, outstanding individuals who will contribute and develop research programs related to generalized symmetries in quantum systems and their applications to quantum matter. Expertise in condensed matter theory, quantum field theory and mathematical physics will constitute valuable assets. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to carry out research associated with the group of Assistant Prof. Apoorv Tiwari and interact with other members of the Niels Bohr Institute. They have the opportunity to guide students and junior fellows, teach courses at various levels, participate in outreach activities, and organize international meetings and PhD schools.

The Niels Bohr International Academy strives to attract the best and the brightest by providing the environment to enable curiosity-driven breakthrough research in the physical sciences and mathematics. The University of Copenhagen wishes to reflect the diversity of society and welcomes all qualified individuals regardless of personal background.
