Position Description
Job Title: Associate in Research Length of Commitment: 3 months Start Date June 1, 2024 end date August 31, 2024 Desired Qualifications and Experience: Language Requirement: English (fluent) Qualifying candidates will be graduates of a well-regarded Masters Program in economics and related fields. Some prior research experience is preferred but not required. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for the position, but a master’s degree is preferred. Job Responsibilities: • Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets • Creating visualizations and reports • Conducting literature reviews and summarizing key findings in reports or presentations • Running Monte Carlo simulations • Programming new statistical packages Strong candidates will also possess: • Strong quantitative and statistical skills; • Significant coursework and experience in economics; • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills; • Genuine interest in economics, policy, and research; • A positive attitude and be flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player; • The ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines; • A willingness and desire to work hard and learn.Duke is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual's age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, (including pregnancy and pregnancy related conditions), sexual orientation, or military status.
