Duke’s MAT Program is the recipient of an NSF grant (Noyce Scholarship Program). The primary goal of Duke's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program is to recruit and enroll diverse cohorts of highly-qualified STEM graduates and mid-career professionals in Duke's Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Since its inception in 2006, Duke University’s Noyce project has awarded nearly 70 scholarships to graduate students with undergraduate degrees in mathematics or the sciences. The scholarship supports their tuition at Duke and also provides a monthly stipend in exchange for a commitment to teach in a high-needs school for two years following graduation.
