Description
The Department of Chemistry (https://chemistry.lafayette.edu/) at Lafayette College is seeking a person to join our department in January 2025. The position is for a full-time, visiting assistant professor and will run through July 2026. The successful candidate will have expertise in organic chemistry with shared teaching duties primarily in our organic chemistry and introductory (general) chemistry sequences. The teaching load for visiting assistant professors at Lafayette College is three lecture courses each semester; two three-hour laboratory sections are equivalent to a lecture course. While not a requirement, opportunities and support are available for the successful candidate to mentor students on research projects.

Qualifications
Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry are strongly preferred, although highly-qualified and experienced candidates nearing completion of the doctoral degree (ABD) will receive consideration. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
