Position Description:
   

The Psychology Department at Macalester College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, to begin Fall 2025. Responsibilities include teaching five courses per year, maintaining an active program of research, and contributing to the life and activities of the Psychology Department. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by the time of appointment.


We seek dedicated teachers and scholars who are interested in a career in undergraduate education. The position requires teaching intermediate and advanced level courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, including a broad survey course related to psychological distress and disorders. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who can alternate with other instructors in teaching service courses in the department (e.g., introduction to psychology, statistics, and/or research methods). Successful candidates will be active scholars who can engage undergraduate students in their research. New faculty receive generous start-up funds to equip their research lab. Department and College funds are available to support undergraduate research assistants as well as other research needs.
