Position Description:
   

The New High Energy Theory Center (NHETC) and Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theoretical High Energy Physics, to begin on September 1, 2025 or before. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a related field. The NHETC at Rutgers has a long history of groundbreaking contributions to fundamental physics. Current active research areas in the group include quantum gravity, string theory, physical mathematics, integrable systems, collider physics, astroparticle physics and dark matter, cosmology, and machine learning applications to fundamental physics. We are seeking an applicant with outstanding accomplishments and excellent future promise in research areas that strengthen, broaden, and/or complement existing areas of expertise in the group.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program that will attract external funding, as well as teach physics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor Rutgers’ diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
