The Economics Department at Duke seeks applicants for a Professor of the Practice. This is a non-tenure track regular-rank faculty position, to begin July 1, 2025. This position is expected to teach undergraduate courses related to the field of finance each year. The applicant will also contribute to the Duke Financial Economics Center’s (“DFE”) work in providing co- and extra-curricular training and development for undergraduates interested in careers in the financial and related markets. In this role, s/he will collaborate with DFE faculty on existing programs, propose and co-develop new opportunities for students to learn about financial markets, and engage alumni in these programs to enhance students’ career readiness. Candidates should have a PhD in economics, finance or a related field and a strong teaching and academic service record. Candidates who additionally have significant work experience in the financial markets may be particularly suitable for this role, but this is not a requirement.
