Position Description:
   

We invite applications for a Ph.D. position at the University of Zurich (UZH) in experimental particle physics research on the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We are interested in finding outstanding, strongly motivated candidates with the drive to pursue important research topics in particle physics.

The CMS groups at UZH are engaged in data analysis, software development, and operations of the CMS detector. We are particularly interested in performing in-depth investigations of the Standard Model and direct searches for new physics. We are also involved in the pixel detector upgrade for the CMS phase-II of the High Luminosity LHC.

A master's degree in physics and, ideally, some research experience in experimental particle physics are required. Good software skills are desirable. The ideal candidate will be interested in data analysis and detector instrumentation or software.
