Description
Theoretical Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity on Quantum Simulations and Quantum Optical Interferometry A Postdoctoral Fellowship is advertised to support groundbreaking theoretical research on quantum simulations and quantum optical interferometry for applications in large baseline astronomy at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. The fellowship will be housed at the Institute for Theoretical Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics (ITAMP) and is initially for two years with possible renewal for a third year. The successful applicant must hold a PhD in physics or related fields and demonstrate creativity and originality to conceptualize ideas and topics and have expertise in large scale many-body quantum simulations. Applicants with experience and interest in topics in ultracold atomic and molecular few- and many-body physics, quantum gases, quantum information and simulation, and quantum cosmology should consider applying. The deadline for submission of all application materials, including letters, is Friday, November 29, 2024. The submissions must include statements of past and current research (no more than five pages), a CV with a list of publications, and three letters of recommendation. The fellowship starting salary is $75,000, and support fund for travel and equipment commensurate with the project intent. ITAMP is the premier institute for theoretical studies in atomic and molecular and optical physics in the United States.
