Position Description
WHY WORK AT BNL?- The position requires a Ph.D.in Physics.
- Application of strong analytical and critical thinking skills and problem-solving efforts to formulate high-quality research ideas and directions in collaboration with mentors in the HET Group.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate research progress, challenges, achievements, and engage within and beyond the group with new potential collaborations.
- Publish results of research and development in peer-reviewed journals and conduct presentations at major conferences.
- Demonstrated track record of publication of research in high quality peer-reviewed journals and delivery of presentations.
- BNL policy requires that after obtaining a Ph.D., eligible candidates for Research Associate appointments may not exceed a combined total of five years of relevant work experience as a post-doc and/or in a research & development position (R&D), excluding time associated with family planning, military service, illness or other life-changing events
- Initial 3-year term appointment subject to renewal contingent on performance and funding
- This position will be under the direction of Dr. Sally Dawson, Group Leader, High Energy Theory
- This is a fully onsite position located at BNL
- The position may require domestic and international travel
