Position Description

The Department of Information Technology and Management (ITM) in the College of Computing at Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) invite applications for non-tenure-track teaching faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor levels. 

The Department of Information Technology and Management offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in information technology and applied cybersecurity / digital forensics—with multiple specializations.

Non-tenure track teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in information technology, management, cybersecurity, and digital forensics, both for majors and for non-majors. Candidates must have a Master’s degree or a research Doctorate in a relevant field and preferably at least two years of teaching experience.  Successful candidates will have experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching and developing instructional materials.  

Candidates should possess demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Cybersecurity including network/operating system security technologies, penetration testing, digital forensic analysis, cryptography, cyber policy, cyber defense, cybersecurity frameworks, and red team/blue team cybersecurity team competitions. 
  • Web Application and Software Development including languages technologies and concepts such as Terraform, Cloud Computing Platforms, Software deployment, CI/CD, application security, and various programing and scripting languages: Python, Go, Bash.
  • IoT including IoT security, data collection, data transmission, data security and analytics, data presentation across various platforms, and supply chain.
  • Data Science and A.I. including database technologies, big data, data analysis and data science, artificial intelligence and its applications, neural networks and deep learning, and so forth.
Our Bachelor of Information Technology & Management degree is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org, and Illinois Tech has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The ITM Department is currently a community of over 200 undergraduate students, over 600 graduate students, 10 full-time faculty, and numerous visiting and adjunct faculty.
