Position Description:

The Medium and High Energy Theory Group in the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan : https://www.phys.sinica.edu.tw/~heptheory/ invites applications for postdoctoral positions beginning in Summer or Fall 2025 or earlier in 2025 depending on the mutual agreements. The group covers theoretical research areas of astroparticle, particle, nuclear physics, and cosmology, in particular: • Heavy flavor physics, CP-violation, and perturbative QCD. • Quantum field theory in extreme conditions and heavy ion collisions. • Chiral transport phenomena in nuclear collisions or astrophysical systems. • High-energy cosmic rays and neutrinos, high-energy astrophysics. • Hadronic interactions, extensive air showers, and event generators. • Supernova neutrinos, collective neutrino oscillations, and heavy element nucleosynthesis. • Beyond the Standard Model phenomenology with astrophysics. • Early Universe, and gravitational waves. Successful fellows are expected to conduct independent research. The topic is desired to align with the fields of the group's research fellows, including Anatoli Fedynitch, Hsiang-nan Li, Kin-Wang Ng, Meng-Ru Wu, and Di-Lun Yang. Collaboration with other faculty members in the Institute of Physics, other local institutes including the NCTS (Taipei, Taiwan), ASIAA (Taipei, Taiwan), or international institutes with overlapping or complementary interests are encouraged. The contract duration is 2 years and can be extended, subject to performance and available funding. Applicants are expected to have obtained their PhD degree in physics or astrophysics by the starting date, which is preferably in summer 2025.
