Position Description:
The Dark Matter and Neutrino Group at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is seeking two highly motivated PhD students to work on the XENONnT experiment in Fall 2025.
About the Group: Our group, led by Dr. Jingqiang Ye, plays a key role in both the hardware development and data analysis of the XENONnT experiment. The group is particularly interested in detecting solar neutrinos, solar axions, and light dark matter.
Position Overview: The successful candidates will work on data analysis within the XENONnT experiment and participate in local research and development (R&D) projects. Key research areas include solar neutrinos, solar axions, and light dark matter. In addition, there is an opportunity to contribute to the slow control system of the XENONnT experiment.
What We Offer:
- Tuition Waiver: Full tuition coverage for the duration of the PhD program, usually five years.
- Monthly Stipend: A competitive salary of 5,000 RMB per month after tax. Just as a comparison, the University graduate housing is 100 RMB/month.
- English-Language Environment: Courses and research activities are conducted in English.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in physics or a closely related field.
- Strong programming skills are highly desirable.
- A strong interest in particle physics, particularly in dark matter and neutrino research.
