Description
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for multiple postdoctoral fellowships and postdoctoral positions to work on the theoretical foundations of (Machine) Learning. These positions offer the opportunity for postdoctoral research in an intellectually vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming department. Selected candidates will join the Physics of Learning research group led by profs B. Ménard and M. Wyart. This group will significantly expand in the next couple of years, with the addition of several new faculty members and their respective associates. Research on the theoretical foundations of (Machine) Learning is highly synergistic. Our members strongly interact with colleagues in the departments of cognitive & neuroscience, computer science and applied mathematics and statistics. This research program strongly benefits from Johns Hopkins massive AI initiative, including the creation the "Data Science and AI Institute" and the ongoing hiring of a hundred new AI faculty. Consideration of applications will begin on January 6 2025 and continue until all available positions are filled. Applicants should submit a curriculum vita, a statement of research interests, and a list of publications and arrange for at least three letters of reference on their behalf to be submitted.
