The Duke Global Policy Program (DGP) in Geneva is the flagship global professional development program of the Sanford School of Public Policy. The Duke Global Policy (DGP) Program in Geneva is a dynamic one-week program designed to reshape how graduate and professional students as well as early career professionals from around the world tackle the world’s most pressing policy challenges. Graduate students, early career professionals, and select undergraduates from any university are welcome to apply.
The DGP in
Geneva is housed within the Sanford School of Public Policy. The Sanford School of Public Policy is among
the nation’s leading public policy schools, and offers undergraduate, master’s
and doctoral-level degrees in public policy and international development
policy. It’s commitment to global policy
can be seen throughout the school via it’s programs and Centers such as the
Duke Center for International Development (DCID), the Duke Global Policy
Program in Geneva, the mid-career Master of International Development Policy
Program, and the World Food Policy Program.
Special Instructor
Teaching Assistant Positions in Global Policy
The Sanford School of
Public Policy is seeking applicants for special instructor positions to serve
as Teaching Assistants for a one-week summer seminar on Global Policy that
takes place the week of June 21 to June 25 in Geneva. The
summer seminar has three distinct tracks: Global Health, Humanitarian Action
and International Trade.
These special instructor
teaching assistant positions are intended to bring qualified recent graduates
or early career professionals to the classroom in Geneva who can help to
provide graduate and professional students with knowledge about practical
applications of global policy and to build students’ skills in applying
knowledge to real-world circumstances.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and experience/expertise
commensurate with an advanced degree.
Specifically, candidates should have experience in global policy and be
able to assist in teaching a graduate course related to Global Health,
Humanitarian Action or International Trade. Preferred candidates will have university
teaching assistant experience, a strong commitment to working with students in
the classroom and on projects, event management experience, and high personal
motivation and responsibility toward maintaining the integrity of the learning
environment and process. Those who alumni
of the DGP in Geneva Program or who have experience in Geneva are preferred.
· Assist in teaching a summer, one-week, 2 credit graduate
level course(s)
· Assist in preparing a syllabus that includes
course objectives, readings, and assignments
· Respond to student questions and issues related
to the class
· Assist with the coordination of seminar speakers
and organizational visits
· Use Duke University email address for
course/Duke related correspondence
· Abide by Duke professional standards, including
Duke's Harassment Policies and the Consensual Relationship Policy
· Protect the confidentiality, privacy, and
security of student, staff, business, and other confidential, sensitive,
electronic or proprietary information of Duke University from any source and in

PayPayment:
the position will be paid a flat rate of $2000 at the conclusion of the DGP in
Geneva Program. The position will be reimbursed for accommodations, meals per
diem and economy roundtrip airfare from RDU to Geneva for the week of the
program, June 21 to June 25, 2025.
