Position Description

A postdoctoral associate position is available in theoretical physics of living systems in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida. The expected start date is Summer 2025, with some flexibility. The position will be initially awarded for two years, and, contingent upon performance and availability of funds, may be renewed for a third year.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field, with strong mathematical and computational skills. The incoming postdoc will conduct theoretical research in microbial ecology and evolution, broadly defined. Collaboration with scientists from other departments or institutions will be encouraged.

Interested candidates should submit (1) a CV with a complete list of publications, (2) a statement of past research accomplishments and future goals, and (3) three letters of recommendation. Applications will be reviewed starting February 10, 2025. Applications received after the review has started may be considered at the discretion of the P.I.
