Position Description
The Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies is seeking two Post-MFA instructors in Cinematic and Visual Arts for a one-year teaching appointment. Eligible candidates must have graduated from the MFA|EDA program at Duke in 2023, 2024 or 2025, and have their degree in hand at the time they begin teaching at Duke. For the Post-MFA in Cinematic Arts, the successful candidate must be able to teach Moving Image Practice, an introductory film practice course and Contemporary Documentary Films, a film studies course. For the Post-MFA in Visual Arts, the successful candidate must be able to teach Introduction to Digital Photography. The ability to teach an introductory drawing course is not necessary but may be deemed an additional consideration. The total course load for each position is five courses during the 25/26 academic year.
