The Baugh lab is looking for a full time Associate in Research in the Department of Biology at Duke University. The Baugh lab uses the roundworm C. elegans to study nutritional control of development and organismal physiology. The Associate in Research will contribute to projects investigating the genetic basis of starvation resistance and nutritional control of gene expression using genome editing, phenotypic analysis, and functional genomic analysis. Research experience is necessary. Skills related to genetic analysis, molecular biology, imaging, and computational analysis are desirable, and experience with nematodes is ideal. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to media and reagent preparation, molecular biology, worm and bacterial culture, genetic crosses and genotyping, phenotypic analysis, microscopy, microinjections, and data analysis. This position is part of a research team, and training and mentoring will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated recent college graduates interested in a career in research. This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS degree.
