Position Description
The Macalester College Psychology Department seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Diversity Science (with a specific focus on race/ethnicity and racism; area of psychology open), to begin Fall 2026. Responsibilities include teaching five courses per year, maintaining an active program of research, and contributing to the life and activities of the Psychology Department. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment.We seek dedicated teachers and scholars who are interested in a career in undergraduate education. The position requires teaching intermediate and advanced courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, as well as teaching existing courses or new offerings in statistics and/or research methods. Successful candidates will be active scholars who can engage undergraduate students in their research. New faculty receive generous start-up funds to equip their research lab. Department and College funds are available to support undergraduate research assistants as well as other research needs.

The starting salary range for this position will be $83,000-85,000, depending upon experience. If this search is being run for an advanced assistant or associate level candidate, salary would be higher and based on internal equity.
