The Tang Group in the UC Berkeley EECS is inviting applications for postdoctoral research and senior visiting scholar positions. The group plays leading roles in developing reconfigurable nanophotonic devices, MEMS-based instrumentation for precision control, and advanced nanophotonics theory and design. The successful candidate will play a major role in developing new experimental platforms and be deeply involved in collaborative projects spanning theory, fabrication, and measurement. We are currently recruiting for, but not limited to, the following positions: Postdoctoral Researchers / Senior Visiting Scholars 1.Nanofabrication Experimentalist Candidates with strong hands-on experience in nanofabrication are encouraged to apply. Backgrounds in nanophotonics, MEMS, electronics, or optoelectronics are especially welcome. 2.Optical Experimentalist Strong experience in free-space optical experiments is required. Preferred backgrounds include nonlinear optics, quantum optics, spectroscopy, or instrumentation. Proficiency in software and coding (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python) is expected. Applicants with a strong theoretical background in optics from their Ph.D. are also encouraged to apply. Applicants should hold a recent Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.
