Position Description

Pomona College Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Systems Neuroscience.  The Department of Neuroscience seeks candidates with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and ability to establish an active research program that involves undergraduates. The position will begin July 2026.

Teaching responsibilities include two advanced systems neuroscience courses, each incorporating a laboratory, per year. Alternatively, the teaching responsibility may involve teaching an introductory neuroscience course with laboratory and one advanced systems neuroscience course with laboratory. Also expected is supervision of senior theses and other undergraduate research projects.  Areas of systems neuroscience could include developmental neuroscience, sensory neuroscience, motor systems neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, neuroimmunology, behavioral neuroscience, or others.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field.  Post-doctoral experience and a record of scholarly publication are preferred.  Please submit a dossier including (a) a cover letter, (b) curriculum vitae, (c) transcripts, (d) three brief statements – one addressing teaching philosophy, experience, and courses you would teach, one addressing scholarship and potential research projects for undergraduates, and one addressing ability to teach and mentor a diverse student body (Writing Equity and Inclusion Statement), and (e) three letters of recommendation.

Total compensation includes a robust benefits package and a salary commensurate with rank and experience, ranging from $95,000-$110,000.
