Position Description
Assistant Professor of Computer Science
The
Computer Science Department at the University of Oregon is accepting
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in the
Fall of 2026. We are seeking a faculty hire in Artificial Intelligence and
Machine Learning, with a broad scope that includes, but is not limited to,
areas such as Natural Language Processing, Speech, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, Data Mining, Multi-Agent Systems,
Robotics, Trustworthy AI,
and Foundation Models.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and possess an exceptional research track
record. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a
top-tier research program, delivering graduate and undergraduate courses with
excellence, and contributing to university and community service.

• Letter of interest summarizing candidacy highlights, and specifically how your skills and interests align with the job ad. This letter can describe experiences that have prepared you to recognize, serve, and bolster the excellence of our students from a wide range of backgrounds.
