Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Computer Science Department at the University of Oregon is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in the Fall of 2026. We are seeking a faculty hire in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a broad scope that includes, but is not limited to, areas such as Natural Language Processing,
Speech, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, Data Mining, Multi-Agent Systems, Robotics, Trustworthy AI, and Foundation Models. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and possess an exceptional research track record. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a top-tier research program, delivering graduate and undergraduate courses with excellence, and contributing to university and community service.

The UO CS department is a critical part of the newly formed School of Computer and Data Sciences (SCDS) and is in the midst of a major growth in tenure-track and career faculty members.
