Position Description

QUC Fellow positions in Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Information Science, Theory and Computational condensed matters and materials science at Korea Institute for Advanced Study As the first research institute for basic sciences in the nation, Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) was founded in 1996 by Korean Government to promote excellence in the basic science research. Located in Seoul, KIAS provides a unique research environment, where its members as well as visitors can enjoy constant academic stimuli and friendly administrative support. Quantum Universe Center at Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites applicants for the postdoctoral QUC Fellow positions(* Equivalent to Assistant Professor in Universities) in research areas below. [ Physics/Computational Sciences ] o Condensed Matter Physics (e.g., strongly correlated electron systems, ...) o Quantum Information Science: Quantum Computing, Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Communication, Quantum Metrology, Quantum Resource Theory o Theory and Computational condensed matters and materials science (developments of first-principles calculation methods and their applications)

Applicants are expected to have demonstrated exceptional research potential, including major contributions beyond or through the doctoral dissertation. The initial appointment for QUC Fellow Positions(* Equivalent to Assistant Professor in Universities) is for two years with the possibility of a one-time renewal of two or three additional years, depending on the research performance and the needs of the research program at KIAS. * KIAS complies with the 「EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AND WORK-FAMILY BALANCE ASSISTANCE ACT」.
