ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION Schwarzman Scholars is a fully-funded, one-year master's degree program in global affairs at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. An unparalleled learning experience, it is the first scholarship of its kind created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century and designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders. Each year, around 150 candidates from around the world are selected to join a diverse cohort. Schwarzman Scholars seeks candidates with leadership qualities and the potential to foster cross-cultural understanding. Scholars come from a wide variety of industries and backgrounds, such as business, technology, politics, healthcare, and more. Schwarzman Scholars' dynamic curriculum–based on the pillars of China, leadership, and global affairs–is designed to provide Scholars with the knowledge, skills, and firsthand experience needed to navigate the complexities of the evolving global landscape. Through an immersive experience in China, Scholars spend a year living in Beijing, studying at the prestigious Tsinghua University under the guidance of leading academics and global thought leaders. Learn more at www.schwarzmanscholars.org POSITION SUMMARY Schwarzman College is recruiting full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty for the College. For all faculty, primary teaching responsibility will be at Schwarzman College. All appointments will be provided with competitive pay. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking scholars in global affairs, Chinese political economy, and leadership who are excellent teachers and scholars with an interdisciplinary focus and whose work is related to China. The appointed professor will teach courses in the Schwarzman Scholars program and will contribute to the core and elective curriculum at Schwarzman College in collaboration with other core and visiting faculty. The appointee will be expected to lead or participate in teaching core required courses (in leadership, global affairs, and on China) at Schwarzman College and other relevant courses (to be mutually decided). The following qualifications and credentials will be considered for the appointment: 1. Strong record of teaching, research and publications; 2. A doctoral degree in public policy, political science, economics, international relations, history, or other relevant field; 3. Fluency in English (for purposes of teaching, research and communications); 4. Cross-cultural knowledge and teaching experience are strongly preferred.
