The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (www.sc.edu/chemistry) at the University of South Carolina, Columbia Campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Polymer Chemistry, with a start date of August 16, 2026. Candidates must have a strong background in polymer science with demonstrated potential to address critical research challenges in emerging areas such as energy, water purification, gas separation, responsive materials, and additive manufacturing. The successful candidate’s research should complement existing faculty strengths and align with the department’s strategic priorities. Candidates are expected to build a vigorous, internationally recognized, externally funded research program and to strive for excellence in teaching undergraduate- and graduate-level courses. The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, or a closely related field, along with a strong publication record.
